Newbie Question K8055n and Relays

Hi all, I bought the K8055n kit and would like to control a motor using a relay.

I got it working however I seem to have broken the relays. I have it connected to a 9V battery.

I can still hear the coil but the motor doesn’t turn on. Using a multimeter there is no continuity where there was before when the motor was working when the coil is on.

I’ve got a 2A 12V dc relay.

I have broken 3 relays. I must be doing something wrong.

Regards Brett

Most likely, the relay will not work correctly with 9V.
Originally, the battery was able to energize the relay, but after some tries you might have drained it a little, so that the relay no longer energizes.

Most 12V relays do not work well on a 9V battery.

Thanks for your replies. I have got a 12V battery pack and 1 out of the 3 relays is working. The one that is working however is a 24V 1A relay. I have bought some more 12V relays and will test again tonight.

It would help if you could point us to a datasheet of the relays and a quick schematic how exactly you try to hook them up.
