My K8400 is heating up but not loading Filament

Hi,
Just ready with the assembly of my K8400. So far so good. LCD is working fine.
My problem:
I follow the instructions to load PLA filament and look at the LCD. Temperature goes nicely up to 210°C.
On LCD now comes text Loading Filament, but nothing happens!! I can see the filament ca 15 mm up in the tube.
after a while LCD say Printer Ready. No loading of filament and the temperature starting to drop down to 23°C.
Updated to firmware 1.4 but same result.
How do I check the stepper motor for the filament?
What more to check?

Thanks in advance

is the extruder motor properly connected(connector mounted at E2 instead of E1)?
Did you select the correct extruder?
Measure the voltage on the stepper driver.
manuals.velleman.eu/article.php? … FTEDLAYERS
Does it look burned?

Check the driver card for correct position.
Make sure the cables are seated maybe unplug and replug them.
Also since you did a firmware upgrade did you use Arduino 1.0.6 or below?

Hi and thanks for your kid input.
I think i found the fault. I switched the stepper motor driver cards. And the fault then followed to the Z-axis
So contacted Velleman for a new one
And yes the 1.4 was updated with 1.0.6.
Thanks all for the help and problem solved!!
