Motors not motoring

Hi,

I’m having problems configuring the printer.

None of my motors work, or the fan. I’ve checked the connections and set the power at 0.55, but still nothing?

I’ve tried the heater bed and the extruder and they work.

When trying to move the arms manually is there a “send” command or should they move when you press the arrows?

Please help!

Are you seeing a good USB connection to the mainboard as explained in the manual?

today I got the same Problem.
I printed the last few weeks without Problems.
And today the X-, Y,- and Z-Motor don’t work any more. The fan, Extruder and bad work.
I didn’t Change anything (Software, …). I tried reset, reboot -> same Problem.

To be clear, are you able to establish a good connection between the printer and the PCB (do you see the extra information in the log window when you press connect).

The USB-Connection (and all the other Connections for the Motors) still work, because Fan, Bad and Extruder work.
The X-, Y,- and Z-Motor not.

Do you see the lights at each driver light up when you expect that the motors should turn?

If I try to work the Motors manually. For each click the red/gree light flashes … but nothing happened …

I mean if you give a command via the PC do you see the LED’s light up.

I’m not sure where there are. If I give commands from Computer I have:

  1. LED for Connection works
  2. LED for Reset works
  3. LED for fan works
  4. LED for Printer bed works
  5. LED for Extruder works

For the X-, Y- and Z-Motors only the Connection LED (red/green flashes). Nothing more …

There are 4 LEDs besides each driver, they are small but when they light up you should see them clearly. If they do not light up it is normal that the motors are not turning as they indicate that the controller sends a signal to a driver/motor.

Could you check if one of your temperatures has an abnormal value? (0.00° or a really high temperature)
As the printer will go into safe mode when this is the case and you will never get a motor to turn.

The LED don’t light.
And the temperature Shows me 18,5° C at the Moment. Both sensors (Extruder and bed).
And if I give a command via Computer the tempretures rises up.

Could you post a copy of your log (with Commands - Infos - Warnings - Errors - Ack active)
when you are trying to move the motors?

Now I’ve got the time I’ve been trying to get the printer going following the advice you’ve given peterh (hope yours is working ok)
This is what happens on my printer:

When I plug in the USB the red and green lights come on and stay on.
When I plug in the power the USB lights go out. A green light flashes twice. The green light on the power supply box stays on.
When I try to move the ‘Z’ arm nothing happens.

This means you haven’t set the correct printer in your settings, so your computer talks with a virtual printer and not with the real existing hardware.
