Motors make a weird noise

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I did my first 3D print, which was successful of the vertex keyring. However, I went to do a 3D print today, and when I “Auto homed” the printhead, The y-axis motor made a horrible noise - like someone was hitting the case of the printer. I was just wondering what was causing this problem. The motor wasn’t producing any noises yesterday when it was printing, and the x axis motor doesn’t produce any noise at all.

Thanks in advance.

Probably the Y clamps supporting the axis are to close. Try to knock one of them with a small hammer (don’t move the clamp more than 1/4 or 1/2 mm) and it should move more freely.

That has done the trick. Thanks! I am just wondering how the y clamps changed position, because when I did my first print, everything was okay.
