Hi guys,
Is it possible the LCD display is damaged somehow?, I only get 8 “block” like shapes on the display. When I connect a LED to the testing pads the LED lights up but no further information or anything on the display.

Check the all the polarized components in steps: 2,4 &10, and also the soldering points.

Please also post a picture of the component side and soldering side of PCB.
If this not help, You can bring it back to your local shop for RMA request.
