MK195 automatic play at power up?

Good day, since I would like to use the record/play kit MK195 in a project and let it play the pre recorded sample by powering up the circuit I was wondering if the module plays automatically if I would short circuit the ‘play L’ button.
I didn’t buy the kit yet otherwise I would try it out.
And while we’re at it; would it be possible to record directly and replace the microphone with a line in (low volume)?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Greetings, Moos

Yes, if you bridge the button, the unit will start to play and loop forever until power is removed.
You can remove the mic and connect a line in but you will have to remove the resistor that supplies power to the mic.

Good Day, thank you for your answer.
So it’s the ‘L’ for ‘Loop’, I actually thought it was for ‘Long’ and the first play button would play touch or something but this is more logic.
So if I would short cut the normal play button it will play the sample only once the moment I start up the circuit ?
I’d like to use the kit as a sort of ‘welcome sample’ on an portable audio machine I’m building.
And if the circuit would start up like this I don’t need to build a one shot/timer or power delay module and that would make me very happy.
Thank you very much in advance.

???
Now we are confused.
We are talking about the MK195, right?
There is no ‘L’ or other indication.
Please download the MK195 manual.
It indicates how the connect an external contact.
Please note that it always loops when ‘play’ is pressed continuously.

I’m sorry I got you confused but it’s mutual, I thought I was sure to have seen two play buttons, it must have been a different manual.
Thank you for the clear answer.
It means I have to use at least a ‘power-off delay’ as long as the sample lasts to play it only once.
Which is not that hard so great!

This is one of the Velleman kits I’ll use in this project which is very important for me, I’m a happy costumer
So thank you once more!

Hello, I hope you also answer in the weekend, I just came back from the Velleman shop here in The Hague and they only have the MK174 and that’s where the confusion came from; the 174 has two play buttons.

Will the MK174 behave in the same way?
So if I would bridge the ‘play E’ button it will play the sample once at power up?

Thank you.

Unfortunately, our engineers do not work during the weekends.
We have checked and the MK174 does not feature a loop-function.

I thought so, about the weekend, no problem.
But will the MK174 play the sample when the circuit is powered and the play button bridged?
Thank you.

Yes, when PLAY L is bridged, the unit plays the message once at power up.

Thank you very very much, I just ran to the shop and got me a MK174 !
Have a good day.

I’m sorry but I have one more question to be sure;
the resistor that powers the mic and which I should remove if I want to feed the sample via line-in,
is that the R2 ?

Yes.
