I need to connect 4 mono headsets (without microphone) for training purposes to a VoIP phone.
The headsets have an impedance of 1000 Ohm.
I was thinking of using two MK190 and connecting each headset to one of the stereo outputs.
The inputs of both amps would be connected to the VoIP phone headset output.
By replacing the stereo potentiometers with two mono pot. meters I could adjust the volume of each headset individually.
However, this amplifier is built for 4 … 16 Ohm Loadspeakers.
Will it work with decent sound quality with 1000 Ohm headsets?
I’ve made a small “black box” with two of these amps MK190.
The box connects to any Cisco VoIP phone headset output (we use mainly the 79xx series).
The trainer connects his headset to the box and can speak and listen to the call.
4 trainees can connect their headsets to the box to listen to the calls.
Each of them can set the volume individually.
The trainer can switch off the box (trainees will not hear anything) and still be in contact with the caller.
At first I had some issue with noise in the headsets, but after changing the power supply everthing is working perfect!
Thanks VEL417 for the quick response to my question.
