I recently purchased and assembled a MK190 amplifier. It worked fine, but I noticed that I had not trimmed the LED leads on the bottom of the PCB. When I attempted to trim them, there was a spark even though there was no power connected. I guess I discharged C5 through the LED and ruined it. Can you supply a replacement or provide the specifications? It seems to be a very low current LED, and nothing I have will light via the 10K current limiting resistor. Thanks.
According to the schematic diagram this is an ordinary red 3 mm LED and the current limiting resistor is 4K7…
Despite what the schematic says, the LED is blue (or was until I ruined it) and the current limiting resistor is 10k. I would like for Velleman support to tell me the specifications for a replacement. Better yet, they could send me a replacment. Thanks.
Any 3mm blue, white, or low current red led will do the job.
Sorry, no direct sales. Please turn to a Velleman distributor for spare parts.

Please provide specification for the LED, i.e., current requirement.
As I’ve stated before, any blue, white or low current red LED will do the job.
If you insist, the original led is a Kingbright L-7104LQBD-D.
And that is a very standard LED:
* case: 3mm
* emitting colour + material: GaN
* wave length: 470nm
* case colour: diffused
* luminous intensity (If = 10mA): 28-120mcd
* viewing angle: 30°
Despite these specs, it already lights up with less than 1 mA.
Thanks for the help. Ironically, I also found the specifications on the Velleman web site.
