MK188 PIC corruption

I have ten MK188 timers built and installed on various test equipment. Having experience with PICs I exported the hex file before installing the first PIC in case a PIC failed. However when a PIC did fail I unable to get a newly written PIC to operate the timer. Apparently there is a boot loader or specific address used when programming at the factory. So my question is this: Is there any way to get an image to write to new PICs as maintenance for my testers? Or to purchase programmed PICs? I don’t like the latter because I have PICs and need my testers running now.

Thank you

The PICs are read-protected for copyright reasons and no: Velleman does not gives the source code nor hex file. So if a PIC dies, you need to ask a new one to Velleman or if it is very important: buy an extra MK188 so you can work till you have a new PIC.

How do I go about getting new PICs. They don’t show any replacement parts for this unit.

Contact the Velleman distributor where you bought the kits. If they are not willing to help you, you can contact Velleman.
