MK171 Voice Changer - feedback / constant noise?

I just built the MK171 kit and unfortunately, I’m getting a lot of feedback / constant noise when I turn on the power. I don’t actually think it’s feedback, since I have the speaker attached via a fairly long wire, so I don’t think the mic is too close to the speaker.

On the microphone there is a tab.
It looks like you did not solder it.
The tab is actually the ground for the microphone the pin does nothing.
Solder the tab and try it again.
