MK160 status LED / low temperature PIC

Hi,

i use a MK160 for starting a heater in may car. Unfortunately the MK160 doesn’t work when i really need it to work - at temperatures below 0 °C.

I found out, that the PIC is not working below 0 °C and that some other guys had this issue before.

I would like to send you an PIC12C508A-04I/P if you could program it for me? that would be great. Is this PIC the right one?

Also i would like to replace the red status led with an yellow one (there is already an red one in use for showing me the status of the power supply) which specifications does the led has to fulfill?

thank you very much!

best regards

Yes, the PIC is OK, you can mail it to:

Velleman Projects Tech Dept.
Legen Heirweg 33
9890 Gavere
Belgium

Make sure to include a copy of this conversation, so that our engineers know what to do.

No problem for the led, any yellow led will do the job. No need to change a resistor.

ok, thanks!

i will send you the PIC to the given adress, as soon as i receive it from the shop.

By the way: i have another MK160 and would like to change the PIC of this one too - just in case i need it someday for equal applications as the other one (low temperatures). Is it possible to send you two PICs? I can send a copy of the bill of the two MK160 if needed.

best regards

Yes, you can send 2 PICs, no problem.
Please include proof of purchase for both items.
