MK152RS - Spinning LED Wheel for Costume

Is there a way to keep the LED wheel “spinning,” without the lights gradually decreasing in “speed?”

I thought this mini kit would work well with my Ghostbuster’s Cyclotron but, perhaps there is another way I should go all together? I’ve burnt parts of the board so it doesn’t work right anyway. I do have a properly rated Soldering Gun though… just not much experience soldering. With your help, I will know what to do for the next board!

Just keep the button pressed, or replace the button with a jumper wire.

BOARD #2: When I use a jumper, is it okay to solder two of the IC1 pins together? That is how I had it working, at the right speed, but could that have contributed to it wearing down the battery and burning out? It did “spin down” to one light and then the LED faded out the last time it worked. It worked for a LONG time the way I wanted it to. Now, it just doesn’t do anything. Could the “automatic off” be causing it to stay off? I’m lost on this one.

BOARD #3: I was so lost on the last one, I have a third board and now this one just lights up with red lights. I think I switched the polarity on the LEDs just to see if anything would happen in order to get anything lit at all. I’m only using positions 3, 5, 7, and 9 but, otherwise, it should work as advertised at this stage. I didn’t even get to the jumper on this one, yet. Any reason they would just stay lit? I could use it this way but this is not what I intended.

Sorry, without knowing the pin numbers that you have soldered together, we cannot tell if it is OK or not.
Hard to tell what went wrong, as you have modified the units.
Sorry, this forum does not allow picture uploads
If you can provide LINKS (e.g. by using a free online picture base) to HI-RES and SHARP pics of your assembly (both solder- and component side)
then we can take a look and provide some feedback.
