I have recently bought this piece of kit and soldered it together and it works fine. Im unsure on how it all works and the circuitry that makes what do what, is there anyone out there who can explain to me how the circuit works?

As you can see, almost the whole circuit consists of the microcontroller. Like lots of devices today, everything is done by the software and only the input and output interfacing is still plain electronics.
So the Capacitors Diode and resistors just set the appropriate operating conditions?
Sorry, I don’t have the schematics of this kit but yes most of them do.
