MK134 Steam Engine Sound Not Working

I recently bought the MK134 Steam Engine Sound Kit and assembled it (First time soldering), but no sound is produced at all. I double-checked I everything and everything is correctly placed, but still it doesn’t produce any sound.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks,

Probably an assembly problem… Check all components and solderjoint again, check also battery voltage.

Thanks for the reply, I checked all the joints and found out the speaker connection was a the cause of the problem, but the on switch doesn’t seem to do anything.

Would the solder joints be the problem again?

I can guarantee you that. Maybe you have short-circuited the switch with the solder. It happens very often when you solder for the first time.

Just break the connection with the soldering machine.

If you don’t find anything, then check if there’s even any voltage on the switch. (But it should be, otherwise the circuit wouldn’t work).

Greetings.

I re-soldered the switch and everything is working now. Thanks for the help.

That’s good news !

Also Happy 2010 !

Happy 2010 to you to, Cheers
