MK125 Question... Thanks!

I am very new to this, so please bare with me.

I bought this kit to turn on some LED lights i had in the backyard. the LED’s work off a 12V battery source. Now, originally before i received the MK125, i thought, i would plug in the + and - terminals from the battery into the MK125, and there would be another set of + and - terminals for the lights. simple and done.

but now, with the MK125 in hand and looking at the diagram, it shows a 12v source in needed on one side for the MK125, and on the other side, it shows a picture of a light bulb and another battery.

so from my understand, which is very limited i might add, is that, i would need to have one 12v battery source powering the MK125, and another 12v battery source wired to the MK125 powering my LED lights.

No need for two batteries.
Kit power supply and led supply can be drawn from the same supply.

I want to do the same thing but im concerned that linking the 12v car battery to the bread board would fry it.

Did you manage yo do it? If so how?
