MK120 modification

Hi
This is my first post and I would appreciate any help. I am using the MK120 kit to increment an LED counter, the buzzer has been replaced by a relay and this provides a rising edge (via the pos rail) to trigger the count pin. While this works very well I would prefer to do away with the relay and have the transistor T2(BC547C) on the circuit board provide the trigger directly.Has anybody any suggestions on how to achieve this?

If the counter requires a positive trigger, you cannot use the on-board transistor, as it switches to ground.
You could use the op-amp output instead.

I would like to thank VEL417 for the reply to my post, I have made the suggested modification and now have a simpler, noise free counter which also consumes less power. Thank you once again for a quick fix to my problem
