MK120 IR barier conneting

Hi people.

I’m a novice and i bought the MK120. I’ve soldered all the kit provided and i encountered an issue. I have two battery connectors which two wires coimg out of them. Now the problem is i have no idea what they are for and where to connect them to as the picture or the instruction just show that i have to put them through the whole but what next? Anyone can help?

Thanks

We are sorry, but we have difficulties understanding your question/problem.
Please elaborate. What about the picture of the assembled unit on the packaging or on the website, does this help?

Sorry, what I meant was the wires that come out of the battery connector, I don’t know where to solder them on the PCB it does not specify on the pictures

Everything about the connection is fine, but the problem now is thatthe buzzer buzzes all the time, as if, the barrier was between the phototransistor and two IR lebs all the time, I found that I soldered one of the diodes the wrong way round. Could that be the reason? and do I need to replace the diode because it was soldered the wrong way round

Most likely, the diode will not be defective and does not need replacement.

Do you know what could be the cause of the buzzer constantly goin off?

Most likely, there are more assembly problems and most likely, the transmitter is not working.
Check by looking at the leds with a digital camera, it can see IR light.

I have assembled the kit and the IR led doesn’t show under my digital camera, and the buzzer keeps beeping… i have lost 13$ what about a quick fix on this forum? can you help ??

thank you!

Actually this kit works well when assembled properly.
You should post some very clear and sharp top and bottom pictures on a free photo website so the kit can be checked out.
Check the polarity of the LEDs and proper placement of the caps.

The buzzer is always on, and i cannot see infrared led with my digital camera… that is the problem… i have check all polarity , i am not the only one complaining about this kit…
any help?

thank you!

There are no problems with this kit.
It may seem like many people have problems, if you judge by the number of posts.
However, this is not the case. It is one of our best selling kits, but it is also quite complex, so a lot can go wrong during assembly and use.
This explains the number of posts.

Sorry, this forum does not allow picture uploads
If you can provide LINKS (e.g. by using a free online picture base) to HI-RES and SHARP pics of your assembly (both solder- and component side)
then we can take a look and provide some feedback.

Hi,

I don’t want to offend.

This is like any other forums board.
Everyone post there to get help with there projects.
So it is normal that you would see “complaints”
The engineers and techs at Velleman really do go out of their way to help the best they can.
I don’t think you will find a quick fix because everyone makes different mistakes.
But if you don’t let them see your work there is no way for them or anyone else to assist.
