I recently bought and constructed two MK118 FM Radio kits. I noticed in both kits no wire were provided to connect the PCB to the speaker. These wires are shown in the Step 15 of the instructions but are not provided - is this intentional?
The other problem I have is that one of the radios works, but the volume (even when fully turned up) is very very low. Any ideas about what could be the cause of this?
The other unit works perfectly, i’ve tried swapping out IC1 and IC2 but that did not solve the problem.
Any advice would be appreciated.

For the wires you can use some of the excess resistor leads that were trimmed after soldering.
For the volume check the following for proper value.
R3, R9, C8, C11
Check C3 for proper value and polarity.

Problem solved. It was CV1 inserted incorrectly!
I don’t mind using the aerial wire for the speakers - but perhaps the instruction sheet could be updated to reflect this? There is no mention of how to connect these wires correctly. Just a thought.
Anyway both units now fully working.
