MK 136 - is a box available / power supply with external PSU

Hi,

I need a few of these kits but I can’t sell them unboxed and power may not be supplied by batteries.
I think a cheap universal PSU would do the job. What is the maximum and minimum voltage rate which I can feed to the MK136? I guess such devices don’t really supply the voltage rate very stable so the input power of the MK136 must have a tolerance of some volts.

Second I need is a box so the kit is covered but of course the customer must be able to access all relevant parts like switch, connectors and level meters. And of course the microphones may not be covered.

Does any one know a matching box or any other kind of cover for the MK136?

Many thanks!

For the box: I don’t have an idea. Mostly you buy a closed box and adapt that.

For the power supply: most of the power supplies nowadays are stabilized, so voltage is not very dependant on load anymore.

A quick look at the schematics tells me 9 Volts is about the maximum (depending on specs of the microphones).

Thank you for your fast answer.
Is it possible to connect the outputs of two sets together? I’d like to use 4 microphones instead of 2.
I don’t need 4 separate channels; it is fine enough for me to record 2 microphones on 1 channel.
As the set should be used to record a discussion at a round table I assume the persons sitting behind the microphones would be recorded with a lower level compared to the persons sitting in front of the microphones.

With some extra resistors you can connect the outputs together like you make a kind of passive mixer.

Thank you.
Could you tell me how exactly I need to solder the extra resistors and which I would need?
A sketch would be fine.

As it seems Velleman just offers the whole kit but not parts of it, I need to know which microphones are being used in that kit so I can order them elsewhere.

You could replace R7 and R8 with e.g. 33 ohms in both kits and then tie the outputs of two kits together.
