Massive problms with Vertex K8400

Hi@all,

know I don’t know what to do with my printer.
After a lot of problems with stucking filaments, clogged nozzles and so on, I bought fresh parts and built a brandnew hotend with all new parts.
Then the printer works fine again.
But after 4 prints, the same problems like before.

Stucking filament (original Velleman filament!) and a clogged nozzle.

I’ve tried all settings that I have found here in the forum.
But nothing is working.

So what I’m doing wrong???
Printing temperatur is now 190° C.

I can’t believe that I’m the only one withe these hard problems.

So what I can do??
I bought this printer to work with.
But till now, I’m only testing and testing and buying new parts…

Not funny!!!

Hello Pileman!

First check the length of the teflon inner tubes and try to cut it slightly longer.

It that doesnt´t help, try to improove the cooling of the isolator guides (PEEK parts). For testing you can do this in cura settings.

Improove the cooling helped me a lot as I had this issue never since I modified my printhead.

Hi,

the length is exactly as written in the manual.
But how much longer should it be?
In the manual you can read NO 0,25 mm to long or to short!

And what are the PEEK parts?

I don’t understand what you mean with isolator guides.

Can you show it with a picture?

And what can test in cura? What I have to change exactly?

Thx for help!

Teflon tube rather 0.25 too long than 0.25 too short.

As you can see in the building instructions the isolator guide (material: PEEK) is the part where you fit the teflon tube in.

In the slicer settings look for minimum and maximum fan speed and change it to a higher value.

I think you have the issue that the filament stucks just at the small gap between upper side of nozzle and end of the teflon tube. Can you confirm that?

You should also look if there is an offset between top side of the isolator guide and the extruder mounting plate by unloading filament and pulling the teflon tube out of the coupler.

Then take 2mm diameter steel wire or the back side of a 2mm drill to test if it goes in slightly or if there is some offset. Filament has to slide smooth whole way from extruder to nozzle.

Also check your retraction settings in slicer. Due to excessive retraction the filament can deform until it stucks somwhere on its way to nozzle. ( had this a few times befor but not with PLA material)

Hi,

minimum and maximum speed are at 100%.
Is it possible to set them higher than 100% at maximum?

Hi all.
Same problem here. I had great quality prints until last Saturday, I’m talking about a total of 20 hr . Yesterday I’ve start the same prints and it was a disaster. And more the extruder stepper motor make a “clanck” noise when retracts and the tube bumps…
