I assembled the Mainboard I have got last week.
The LCD lights up, but no text.
I have done all steps I have found in the forum (disconnect all cables, remove the Printer Boards, check the connection of the LCD etc.), but still no text.
I found the tip to connect the USB cable.
Without the driver installed on the PC: No text on the LCD.
After installing the driver (2.12.00) on the PC I connect the printer with the USB cable and I got a Blue Screen on my PC. Error message: “page fault in nonpaged area”
Searching for this error message: It is a problem of the driver. The driver try to address an area which not exist.
Same procedure: Disconnect all cables, remove the driver boards, but nothing helps.
I try to use the older-drivers: 2.10.00 / 2.08.30
No effect.
Is the mainboard the problem?
If yes, can I send the mainboard to Velleman Projects Tech. Dept. (I found the address in the forum)
Which Arduino IDE version did you used to upload the firmware?
You need to use 1.0.6…
Cheers,
Dylan
I have no chance to upload a firmware,
because the LCD shows no text and the PC runs directly into the Blue Screen.
Well, can you try another pc?
Cheers,
Dylan
No, in the moment I have no second PC available.
But I don’t believe that this is a problem of the PC,
because I have also problems with the LCD.

Try disconnecting the lcd and upload then, does that work?
If you look below the screen there is a hole to adjust the contrast.
You could try turning it to see if the text appears.
Thank you both for the tips, but I tried these already:
- disconnecting the LCD (I have disconnected all cables and also with all cables connected), plug in the USB = PC runs into Blue Screen
- adjusting the contrast = still no text
