LCD / main board and grounding

I used VERTEX-printer on non-grounded 230V socket. When I touched one of the four LCD’s attach bolts on VERTEX front panel the text on LCD disappeared. Soon after the the VERTEX board rebooted during printing. You could feel and hear minor static electricity spark also. I was able to repeat this phenomenon several times. When I used VERTEX-printer on grounded 230V socket everything worked normally. My assumption is that if VERTEX is used in non-grounded power socket it can cause some sort of static electricity to the parts that can cause errors to the main board and LCD? One reason might also be the plastic frame; perhaps it easily gathers some static electricity and if the printer is not in grounded socket the electricity can’t discharge until someone touches the frame?
