Lab1, multimeter buzzer not working or very soft

Hi,

I just purchased a lab01 3-in-1 unit. When I do a continuity test, the buzzer does not sound. I can hear a very, very light peeping noise, but only if it is completely quiet. What do I need to do to make this work? I connected the 9v battery already.
