K8400, got the wrong home Position.?!

Hello,

last Week i tried to print some bigger objects after the Printer works really fine. At the evening i started the print and at the next morning the print was displaced and not finished. After this, everytime i started a printjob or pushed the home button the x and y axle try to get to a position out of the layer and it made really bad noises and the fan-belts rub off. After that i checked the config but it seems right, 200x200x0. Then i made a firmware update and reinstall the Repetier Software. But it dont work, after that i reinstalled the fan-belts. At last i checked the engine of the x and y axle but it also not work. But if i try to move the axle manually at the front of the printer he move from 0-200 and he dont wanted to get to 250 or 300 like if i pushed the home button. I got no idea how the printer got the Home Position back respectively the Layer.

Thank you

If you got a layer shift while printing a bigger object, your axis are probably misaligned (check the procedure in the Wiki). When you’re trying to home the head it probably doesn’t reach the end-stops before getting stuck

Thanks but after rebuild the axis and calibrate them i try to start the home command and the print head still hits the x axis and makes this terrible noise. And also he doens’t drive in the right corner from the front of the printer display, now he drives in the left corner. Look like the engine of the x axis goes broke, maybe?.

just to be more clear for the analysis:

do you command the K8400 via repetier host or directly from the LCD menu? The printer normally will not accept coordinate values above 200.

What happens when you start the homing using the LCD menu?

Before the firmware update, did you any modification on the files? Which version do you use?

Of course, the driver for the x-Axis may be damaged, you can check it by swapping the x- and y- driver boards.

No further ideas without some additional input.

When you updated the firmware did you use Arduino software 1.0.6 or below.
Anything higher will not work.
