I have tried to do my first dual extruder print. I use Simplify3D and a downloaded file for a 2 Colour leaf frog. I also use the dual colour wizard.
Everything seams to work fine in the program. I export the file to the SD card and go to the printer.
Heating up the both extruders also work. When it start to prints the extruder 2. ( left) is used first and then extruder 1 ( right) and there is a misalignment between them with 23,7 mm.
I have tried to find a solution in this forum without any result. Anyone else having the same problems and know the solution for it?
Good morning,
yes. that is correct because the nozzles are apt 23.7mm in distance.
So in S3D, FFF-Settings, Scripts, Start Code:
M218 T0 X0 Y0
M218 T1 X-23.2 Y-0.25
worked for me. you have to see what your offsets are.
Doing this, make two rectangles (each for one color) assign them to the nozzles and print them laying site by site.
Then you can see how much off your nozzles are.
this has to be done for horizontal and vertical alignment
There is another setting in S3D, where to set it global:
FFF-Settings, GCODE, there you find down left TOOLHEAD OFFSET, that will do the same I guess, but did not checked, because I had made the direct script adaption earlier and it worked.
it is because of the mounting.
Unscrewing und screwing them again, will change the position of the head… unfortunately.
ebery time you do it, you have to rearrange it again. that is why I switched to E3D V6. you can unscrew the nozzle only…
