K8201 adjustment

Is there a manual about how to set up the 8201 display. I do not know how to adjuat thinga so it will print as well as when I use the computer. it seems to print very fast. If I turn the knob a % changes and that seems to be the speed. I tryed several things and at 25% it more or less worked. I then changed things in the velleman repetier setup to speed it down and that improved a bit but that means I now have two sets of things that need adjustment.

Mechanical everything seems to be OK. Runs smooth, no strange nioises. Heathbed has a glued on glass surface. The bed is adjusted to be flat upto 0.01 mm. I printed some calibration things I found and that seemed to work OK (to bad they never show how the result should be)
But the layers were made out of wires on top of each other instead of a nice solid surface. Tried several things but it looked as if the extruder did not give enough pla. I could not find how to change that but read it had maybe to do with the hight of the extruder
I had it at a 0.3 as a test (measured with a um dial) and that was even worse. gave spagetty in the air results and if not then after every retraction I got floating layer parts.

Then I made the gap 0.2 mm and that was better. It smoothed the layers on each other and gave a nice test result if I did not use retraction. But the spaggetty following the head caused a few times the extruder knocking of the printed object ( two times after 4 hour printing :frowning: ) With a some extraction it was better but the print results became worse.

I have to many parameters because I need to set up the 8201 and the silcer. Besides that the slicer and design version/platform
seems to make a difference. I used the same config file for Linux and Windows bit not the same repetier versions. The Linux one seemed to work better. A file saved by freecad and exported to SLT format gave a better result as a SLT file from sketchup. A file that was “cleaned” by a program from 123D cad gave even better results so that makes the result dependable of 4 sets of parameters and 5 if I made wrong mechanical adjustments.

For instance, repetier made a hollow model with floating arm of the small makerbot android robot. But a Freecad analysed version of the same file gave a good result.

I am a little lost in how to make everything work together.
