also will not always lift and keeps swapping direction of rotation?!? sometimes lifts up to the top looking for ‘home’/ limit switch, will stop if i hit the limit switch and after a few attempts it will lower its self on to the micro switch but cannot lift again to reseat its self at .20mm from the bed.
The 1st time it swapped direction i was 3/4 the way through printing the 4th big cube gear, it reversed and proceeded to plough its way back down into my print…
X and Y motors work fine.
Extruder motor works fine
And heaters work fine…
Any ideas or help would be appreciated, ive not had it long (a few weeks, just getting good prints too!) and i want it working properly again as soon as possible!!
Diagnostics…
Sometimes it…
loud violent vibrations,
sometimes its quiet (high pitch noise i think is normal) but no movement,
if i tap the lead screw with a pencil it will sometimes rotate one way sometimes the other way,
if it lowers its self onto the limit switch it stops but cannot lift again…
been there n done that, stripped it all out, cut fresh, all tinned n flowed together nicely altho starting to think i shoulda gone with plug connectors tho. dont think my soldering is an issue as its been re done, ive been soldering 4 years, i can see a dry joint n fix no prob , ill check the board at x40 magnification n re check my joints to be sure.
thanks alot for your ideas… have you got any more ideas just in case??
ok, cheers ‘wrong way’! that should solve the lift problem in theory… any idea why the z-axis is getting confused and going the wrong way??? sorry no pun intended! but when i press the home button on repitier my extruder still travels upwards 50% of the time!? and would keep going if i dont hit the micro switch at the bottom!
I can only think of 3 things that might cause something like this.
Wiring error (but you have checked that)
The driver card for the Z-axis (you might swap them)
The Firmware (you can try to reload it)
