K8200 won't print, 1.75mm ABS, Repetier

Hello everyone,

Fairly new to 3D printing, I have a K8200 printer that won’t print. Here is some information and a video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkjodOMVfX0

Stuff is coming out of the head but its piling up at the tip and not being despoited on the bed.

I’m using 1.75mm ABS
Feed rate = 130
Flow rate = 100
Fan = 89
Bed temp = 55
Extruder head 200

I’ve tried a number of different settings but no good. Any advice would be appreciated, I am SO CLOSE!!!

Also I had to tighten the wingnut on the extruder head all the way in to get it to grip the 1.75MM filament. Does that sound right? I think the problem is that the feed gear is not properly gripping the filament but I’m just guessing.

Thanks for any help I may get!

This question may sound silly… Have you replaced feeder and hotend to work with 1.75mm fillament? Originally everything is designed for 3.0mm fillament…

Looking at your video Mike4kz hit the nail on the head.
The stock K8200 will only print 3.0mm filament.
The 1.75 will not work.
I also noticed that you are running a temp of 200C I don’t think that is right for ABS

Thank you guys, I went out and got some 3mm PLA and it worked fine.

Trying to make my first print, a Pikachu, but the “feet” keep lifting off the table. I assume I’ll need to crank up the heat bed or modify the stl file to include a base.

Thanks again for the responses!

You can print with a brim.
I also use put a light coating of hair spray on the bed

I’m new to the printer too (just playing for 2 weeks)… And how do you think I know, that this extruder does not take 1.75mm filament? I learned it hard way (accidentally ordered wrong size).

And first thing I did when I assembled the unit - got piece of glass (our IKEA was out of 20x20 mirrors). Fold a piece of foil a couple times, put a glass on the bed, use a clips, and adjust Z-stop. I use a glue stick, but I’m moving away from it (at least I don’t use it every time I print).

Good luck

Hy, if you want to print with 1.75, better print this part http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:819504 and replace the original one. This mode exists also for 3 mm and it’s very good, mostly for flexible filament
