i bought a k 8200 7 weeks ago. my k8200 first prints without problems. then the printer starts to stop, first after 2-3 hours and now he stops after 5 minutes. extruder and heatbed still are hot but there is no movement.
i have used different cables, deinstalled and installed new the program repetierhost.
no chance. i think there is something wrong with the electronic.
i have checked the power cables.
is it possible send it to you to check it.
It is possible to return the unit for inspection, but keep in mind that it is quite big to ship and that we cannot take responsability for damage during shipping.
Did you check all wiring? Does it lose communication with the PC? How can you restart the printer? Is the power supply running too hot? Any other issues?

wiring i have checked. in the beginning it functioned. now the communication with the pc is lost, i have to restart the program or have to cut the supply power. heatbed and extruder rest hot. he stopped after 5 minutes so i think there couldn´t be something hot.
i have bought a new pc especially for the printer with win 8.0.
perhaps i can send only the circuit board the rest functions very well?
Keep in mind that this is difficult to solve, as the problem seems to be intermittent.
Anyway, for long print jobs, we recommend to use the standalone module. This avoids PC related problems.
If you return the board, we can check it, so that we can rule out board problems.
I think the cable is good.
However you should make sure the power supply is as far away from the control board as possible.
Also if you have the printer plugged in to a surge protector, power or UPS you may want to remove it from is and plug it straight in to the wall (just to test)
If you had LED lights above the extruder nozzle, you would probably see them blink, then come on again immediately. The wimpy power supply overheats and shuts down, but only for a second. The LED lights blinking is what tipped me off. I can’t believe that nobody on this thread has mentioned this. When you find the job stopped, the power supply light (blue) is already on again, and you have no idea what happened.
The problem can be fixed for about $35 USD, shipping included, with a switching supply ordered on eBay that is a 15 Volt 150 watt supply. That is 50% more than the 100Watt Velleman supply.
i had send the board to vellemann in oct… i have received the message that i will get a new board.
at the moment i am waiting…
thank you all for your help. i will post when i can print and test again.
I live in the USA and until recently it was virtually impossible to get a new controller board. However, Velleman USA in Dallas has received new stock and they once again have boards available as of the 2nd week in November, 2014. I had one on order for several months, and my distributor finally received new stock from Dallas. I received a shipping notice that my board has shipped from the distributor, and I should have it next week, by 11/20/2014.
I hope the boards are now readily available everywhere. Ditto other spare parts.
The support people in Dallas have been helpful to me. They even helped me to locate an extruder part that I could not find. Unfortunately, they are not permitted to sell direct to the public, so we must rely on their distributors.
