K8200 GT2/2mm belt and 16 tooth pulley mod for X and Y axis

Hi everybody.

I just finished mounting my GT2 belts and the 16 tooth pulleys.
I used parts i found on thingiverse for the bearing and modified Y motor mount.

Seems to run quite well.
The 16 tooth pulleys give better precision and torque on both axes as the pulleys are lot smaller.
The 100 steps/mm i get with those make the bed run a lot smoother.
Also the belt is way more stiff in all.

Test print is running at the moment. (makerook in ABS)

I think i will remake the X pulley holder as the part i got from thingiverse is not very stable.

I do some testing and then post some pictures of the results.

cheers,

Christian

Test print is done.
(Makerook in abs with 0.25mm layers, 0.4mm nozzle sliced with cura engine)

STUNNING!
WHAT AN ENORMOUS IMPROVEMENT!

SORRY FOR THE BAD PICTURE QUALITY.
It was too dark already. I post new pictures tomorrow ;)

I never thought i could get such quality prints from the K8200.
The best mod i ever did so far.

New Picture of the rook.
Hard to focus as it’s black …

Next i’ll redo the spiral vase thing from my hanging z axis mod.

keep watching

And the result :
Spiral vase, 0.2mm layers, 0.25mm nozzle, clear blue pla, print speed max 60mm/s
(i chose the smaller nozzle to make possible imperfections better visible)

cheers,

Christian

ps: Could you post a better pic plz ? zoom and focus !
