i Have had my printer now for about a month and first problem i had was week 1 extruder snapped when tightening, I managed to fix this and got the printer up and running, spent a lot of time calibrating the table and the extruder and finally got it printing very satisfactory so i proceeded to print out the cover and bed for the control board and the nozzle for the fan,
i got the fan out and started to attach it to the nozzle and problem 2 one of the wires came off the fan nothing to do but replace it not expensive so started to dismantle the control board wires and disconnected power and usb connection got every thing back together now nothing working everything dead so i have disconnected it all again.
can anyone tell me if there is a way to test the board. ???
I am disabled person stuck in the house 24/7 and i got this printer to while away the time so i am really stuck can anyone suggest what is the best way forward.
Apply voltage to the board and check if a LED is blinking 2 times.
Best Regards

When i connect the usb cable red/green lights on.
When i connect power the red/green go out, but the z drive red led is on.
And i tried the reset but it stays on.
What happens when you only apply voltage and the usb is disconnected
when the power is connected on it’s own heat bed is red and so are z motor y motor and e motor then after about 10 seconds the motors go out and the fan comes for 2 secs and goes off bed heater still on
Try updating the firmware.
The instruction are available here => k8200.eu/manual/printing/?c=007
tried updating firmware board is still the same still no change ???
I think it looks like there is a problem with the board if this is the case i can’t afford to buy another board it is very expensive at £160 this has been an expensive lesson in buying 3d printers i did not do a lot of research but i had read several blogs about the Vellman K8200 and i really thought this was the right one buy, when i first saw it in Maplins website it was £699
and it was too much for me, and then my daughter saw special offer £599 I ordered it immediately fast delivery took my time with build and as said earlier first the extruder broke and the the fan and now the board. \i have had lots of words with customer relations at Maplin and they were not helpful at all they told me to contact Vellman and they told me to contact Maplins i think i will give up and just put the rest of the printer in the bucket, I will not be buying anything more from Maplins and i certainly won’t be buying another 3D printer.
Before you trash the printer you should give Velleman a chance to help
Hi there i have had another person look at the board as i said earlier i have disabilities and one is i have not got 20/20 vision and this friend found a fault and took a photo of the problem if you look closely to driver of x motor you will see it has i think blown.
I don’t know but will this have damaged the board as well???
just right click on image placement and view the board remember to click on photo to give larger image
We cant see the picture.
