K8095

I want to create a MP3 Juckbox with a Velleman 8095 MP3 Player.

I bought 2 Vellaman 8095 MP3 Player Module. Both of them show the same fault, if you turn it on.
As soon as you plug the MP3 decoder in to the board (withaout any voltage on the board), the resistor value between the VDD pin on the J6 Jumpers and GND is 23 Ohms. If you unplug the MP3 Decoder, there is a 1,7kOhms resistor value.
If you measure directly on the decoder board between the pins VDD + 3.3V and ground, there is only a resistance of 20 Ohms.

Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong ? Or what else I can do?

Sorry for my bad English.

It’s hard to say.

Could you post some clear pictures of the top and bottom of the board?

When you mounted the regulators are they back to back?

When the MP3 decoder is removed, do you get 3.3V between the pins VDD and GND on the pin header J8?

What is the resistance when you measure directly on the decoder board between the pins:
3 - 9
3 - 10

The pin number 1 is marked on the board (next to the electrolytic capacitor C9).

Thanks for the answer

@Wrong Way, Yes the Regulators are back to back.

@VEL255, Yes I have 3,3V on the J8 if the MP3 decoder is removed. And on the Pins 3-8 and 3-9 directly on the decoder i have 20Ohms.

It seems the decoder unit may be defective.

You can return the the whole kit for inspection/repair to your local Velleman dealer or direct to:
