K8095 - No audio output

I recently finished assembling my K8095 kit, and have been having some troubles with it…

I think I may already know the problem, but I’m not sure.

I originally installed the MP3 module in card-edge slot J10, next to the SD card reader, as there was no specific direction as to which slot to use in the manual I was using. I believe this may have destroyed the module, as I measured 1.2A draw across the 12V input, and regulator VR1 reached 120*C before I was able to turn off power.

After swapping the MP3 module into the other card-edge slot, the unit powers up and LEDs LD4 and LD2 light, however all I get out of the audio connection is faint white noise…

Any advice on the issue would be appreciated.

Most probably the MP3 module or the main card has damaged.
You have to return the whole kit for check/repair.
