K8086 'Telephone ring detector"

Hi,
I’d like to know if K8086 kit works with french Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) ?

And how the kit must be connected to the phone line: simply plugged in “parallel mode” between pins 1 & 3 of the connector (2 & 3 in assembly manual but in France only 1 & 3 are used) ?

It should work in France, but it has not been tested.
It is possible that the pinout needs to be changed to fit the one used in your country.

I need help here!!!Just want to understand how this ring detector works with the relay o/p…

I had assemble and input the ringing signal, when signal comes in o/p relay was able to activate from normally close to normally open however when ring signal stops( after palcing handset back), the relay failed to retract back to the original position, Can somone advise what is the problem here??

Does it turn off when you remove the phone plug ?

Managed to isolate the fault to be due to the wrong orientation of the transistor. Now the relay able to retract back however notice that it takes abt 2-3 seconds after i picked up the handset.
