K8081 specifications incorrect

I just build the K8081.
The specs say frequency responce 3Hz to 200kHz, I reached 50kHz and above that the distortion was unacceptable. The signal didn’t look like a sinus anymore.

Sensitivity is said to be 600mV rms, but above 700mVpp clipping occurred, so probably you mean 600mVpp.

After applying a constant sinus the amplifier turns on and switch of after 15 minutes, while there is still a sinus on the input. Turning the sinusgenerator off and on again starts the amplifier again (for the next 15 minutes).

For 20kHz it may beworking fine with a music device as input, but that is not what I want. I want to use it according to its specs, with a sinus as input.
I have to conclude that the amplifier doesn’t meet the specs, wat can Velleman do to make the amplifier work according to its specs?

A couple of issues:

Measurements were performed on our prototype, at design time.
Due to component tolerances, brand changes, production process etc…, the specs may vary from the original design.
After all, this is a kit, so it cannot be tested and adjusted during production as with a commercial finished product.

Measurements were performed in our lab with specific conditions regarding output power, load, etc…
Most likely, your measuring conditions are not equal.

Please note that this device has been designed to be used with music signals. It is not an instrumentation amplifier.

We can check your kit if you return it, however, keep in mind that we have to charge for this inspection, unless there is an obvious manufacturing error.
Assembly or application errors are not covered by warranty.

If you decide to return your kit, please return it to your distributor or to:
