Good evening,
I wonder why there’s no female XLR connector on the K8072 kit.
Does this means that the K8072 has to be put at the end of the DMX line ?
What can I do if I need to use more than 1 K8072 (more than 1 group of lamps for example), or add other DMX appliances ?
Is it possible (and no dommageable for the kit) to connect a female XLR connector (DMX out) simply in parallel with the male XLR connector (DMX in). If not, thanks to explain how to connect a DMX out connector to the K8072.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Best regards,

For saving costs I suppose …
You can indeed put a female XLR (as DMX out) in parallel with the DMX in.
Thanks for your answer,
This is not (only) for saving costs but to use different no DMX devices on different DMX adresses (from K8062)
So you mean that it’s possible to derivate in “Y” the DMX cable.
Unfortunately, I saw in many DMX forums that a “Y” derivation is not recommended, but why ???
Thanks for your help,

No, Velleman does not supply it for saving costs (I suppose) ;).
In cheap lighting devices, the input and output XLR are already at the input connected to each other. As long as you don’t do it for a certain number of devices, this works. Attention: only the last K8062 on the line should have its terminator resistor on!
As long as a DMX input has an impedance that is high enough, you can use Y-cables. Here they use a real DMX transceiver so that should be ok.
Great, thanks for your explanations.
I’ll try with at least 2 K8072 and if it doesn’t works, I’ll ask you further explanations ;-).
