I’m interested in the K8070 1-channel receiver, but I need a small transceiver for it, like the VM108. But according to the compatibilty list there are not compatible. Is it really not possible to combine them?

No, they are not compatible, the protocol is totally different.
Why don’t you use VM130, the receiver is mounted in the exact same enclosure as the K8070 and it has the exact same functionality.
