for controlling the brightness you normally need a 1-12V DC voltage. My question is, can I use instead of a 1-12V voltage a potentiometer (no voltage) for controlling the brightness of the light?
The other question is: if I use a bridge (no voltage - the controlling inputs are directly connected) instead 1-12V DC will I get 230V AC (Input 230V AC, no controlling voltage) at the output.
You could probably use a low-impedance potmeter and connect it as a voltage divider.
With no control voltage, you will get 0V at the output
With 12VDC at the input, you will get 230VAC out
