I have bought K8062 interface via Maplins UK. I have assembled it and it is sending DMX signal. However the DMX lights I am using are LED par56 that have four channels per light. I am unable to control the lights. What ever I do on the PC the lights are on full on all channels. Is there a update to include these lights. The ones on the programme are three other types of lights.
Hello,
I run a K8062 myself, and in fact have used it for 3 separate shows successfully. To set up your lights to work with, I assume, the DMX Lightplayer, you need to:
- Pick a DMX channel scheme. If each light takes 4 channels, use the DIP switches to set the first channel on each light as follows:
a) Light 1: Channel 1 (DIP 1)
b) Light 2: Channel 5 (DIP 3,1)
b) Light 3: Channel 9 (DIP 4,1)
d) Light 4: Channel 13 (DIP 8,4)
Note: you may also need DIP 10 for the lights to work correctly. Read the manual for the lights. If not, experiment with DIP 10, it might be listed as 512. If so, make sure it is set on.

In the lightplayer program, you need to set up at least 1 light in the program. To do this, click on DMX Library. From there, you can build a lighting library. You need to tell what each channel is used for. Save the file.

To use the lights, click on insert. Click on the file with your light profile in it. It will ask what starting channel and how many fixtures. Use starting channel 1, and 4 lights. You should get 4 lights in the main screen, all set up and ready to use.

If this doesn’t work, try using the basic test program on the CD, and see if it will control at least one light. That will tell you if the lights are receiving a DMX signal.
BTW, what type of light (manufacturer and model) are you using? I ask because I am using all LED light for my stuff, most of which are Chauvet lights:
Par56 LED
ColorSplash Par196 LED
ColorSplash Jr
LEDRain 36
LED Shadow
Vue I
Vue II
DMX-4 Dimmer Pack
2 American DJ LED Spectrum
Elation DMX/Branch-4 splitter/line driver
Everything, as I say, works great. Check your cabling as well. I have read on here that others have had cabling problems that were nothing to do with the K8062.
Cheers!
Mike
