I have built a DMX interface, I have tested it with the lighting set-up and the push-button test works as it should taking the lights from zero to full, then out as 256 presses is passed.
But …
when I plus in the interface to my computer, running Win XP, I get
“Sample HID client application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience.”
"
Error signature
AppName usbxp.exe AppVer 1.0.0.0
ModVer 1.0.0.0 Offset 000013a6
I have not tried the device yet with the lighting dimmers.
I’ve looked under Control Panels, and System properties, Hardware, Device Manager and there’s no yellow question marks against Human Interface Device, or the sub-set HID-compliant device or USB HID
Help!!
Thanks
Should I try out the device with the 15k lighting system??
It seems that in your computer is running a program usbxp.exe that closes after connecting the K8062. Do you know what the usbxp.exe might be?
You can anyhow run the programs for K8062 and control your light system with it.
Thank you for that. I’ll get round and actually try out the K8062 in the next day or two and post a reply.
I’ve been using Macs for about 20 years and this venture into the PC world is not exactly intuitive.
I don’t know what the program usbpx.exe is, sorry.
Fingers crossed the unit will work fine, I just didn’t want to try it out before finding an opinion!!! The theatre has a Frog Bull Frog controller - which is huge - and I wondered if the K8062 and a laptop would do simple lighting scenes.
