K8062 USB DMX slight problem!

Hi there all,

Have built my first velleman kit and got puzzling results.
Am using interface to drive 4x ACME Super Leo’s but all channels only seem to respond to dmx values between 1 - 8. Any value >8 replicates its lowest divisible factor of 8 (if that makes any sense to anyone?)
eg Channel 1 = PAN DMX val 1 = far left, DMX val 4 = centre, DMX val 8 = far right
DMX val 9 = far left, DMX val 12 = centre, DMX val 16 = far right
DMX val 17 = far left, DMX val 20 = centre, DMX val 24 = far right
and so on, and so on.
This is same for TILT. Gobo and shutter act erratically but presumeably same problem.
These lights work fine with DMX light desk.

Any thought anyone PLEASE???

If you are using our test software, please be sure that your DMX Channel setting is set to 512.

I’ve tried using Velleman DMX Light Player v1.0 and DMX Demo as supplied on cd with kit. Both with same results.

Also when using DMX Light Player v1.0, when adding a fixture (ACME Super Leo) through the DMX library, on saving I get error message

"Following errors occurred:

Channel 1: Your last Preset must end on 255!
Channel 2: Your last Preset must end on 255!" despite no editing facility on Channel 1 (Pan) or Channel 2 Tilt)’

Dear sir,

There is no specific problem with this kit, or you have made an assembly error, or your DMX fixture is not compatible (this is possible).
Return the unit via your dealer to us for repair/checkup.

Thank you for your rapid response to my post dated 9th Feb 2009,

I will act upon your advice and recheck the assembly of the unit, test using a different fixture and if all else fails will return for diagnosis.

I’ll post a message here upon resolution for other users suffering th4e same or similar problems.
