K8061 - setup problem

Hello

I have a K8061 kit. It worked fine for two months on two computers with Win XP home and Win 2000.

Some days ago, my computer with Win 2000 could not “see” the K8061; power led light on, USB led is always off, my software doesn’t work, your demo software doesn’t work too.

I tried to:

  • remove and re-install driver & dll;

  • use a different USB port (on-board port, no hub);

  • format my computer three times with Win2000, Win 98 and Win XP pro;

  • connect the K8061 to four different computers with Win 2000 and Win 98;

  • try three different USB cables.

All the computers failed to load the driver and the card doesn’t work.

But if I connect the K8061 to the first pc, the one where I installed the K8061 just to test it after assembly, it works perfectly !!!

I think the first pic (18F2550, USB interface) is defective; I ask to your Italian dealer (Futura Elettronica) to send me a spare chip, but they don’t have it.

So, I spent 98 euro, my data acquisition system is useless and I can’t work on my project… :frowning:

Very strange problem indeed. It seems that this concerns the hardware of the USB section of the K8061. First check all the soldering joints around IC3. Especially check the soldering of C1, C2, C7 and X1.
