K8061 response time

I’m planning to buy a k8061(VM140). With this card i want to use a fototransitor as a rev counter.
How is this possible? Is there any event fired when there is a new input on an analog input? Looking in the manual i dón’t think this is possible.

But if there is an input for 1ms how do I respond to this? Checking if the input is low every 0,5 ms? The response time is 4ms of the k8061, so I don’t think this is possible either…
Does anyone has a solution?

You are right, the response time is 4ms and your signal has period of 1ms. It is not possible to count the pulses of that high frequency.
The solution may be to use a frequency to voltage converter and feed the voltage proportional to the frequency to the analog input of the K8061.
