I want to build the K8060 amplifier kit, but I can’t easily get hold of a 30-0-30 transformer of sufficient power. If I connect one side of a 15-0-15 transformer to both AC inputs on the PCB, and the other to the ground connection, I will effectively have a voltage doubler, and thus have the ±30 Vac required. This does, however, mean that the voltage start up will be slower than when using a 30-0-30, and the one voltage rail will charge up before the other. Does this pose a problem to the amplifier, or will this work effectively the same as using a 30-0-30 transformer?
