I am considering the K8060 amps for an active loudspeaker project I have underway, and wondered if anyone has tried upgrading the output transistors ?
The TIP142/147 are quite old and have limited power handling, whereas there are better Darlington devices available now at reasonable cost, such those from Sanken. It would seem to be a fairly simple upgrade.
these are the only transistors i know that could replace it everything is the same voltage and specs and they are monolitic darlingtons like the tip variants
but amps up to 20 instead of 10
MJH6284(NPN)
MJH6287(PNP)
but more power means more cooling just take that in mind
