K8060 Findings

Hi,

Just built my first kit and found that if I started with the potentiometer in the anti-clockwise position the bias current would go through the roof. I have managed to get the bias current steady but it seems to be quite high at around 20mA and the potentiometer is at its most clockwise limit. I’m not sure if this indicates that there is a fault somewhere in the circuit. I haven’t connected this up to any speakers at this stage but did a diode test on the darlington output transistors and the bias transistor and found that the negative rail darlington and the bias transistor conducted in two directions instead of one.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and/or could offer any advice.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
How did you measure this exactly? You should be measuring mV (milliVolts) over R19; Voltage not Current?
