Hello
Ive just finished building this kit, it’s powered using the reccomended transformer & I have 40V+ & 40V- on D3 & D5. I also have 9V at the zener, nothing gets hot & nothing’s popped, but I have around 120mV across R19 with RV1 turned right down. any clues? I tried leaving the amp turned on for a while (about 20 minutes) with the speaker connected to see if anything showed any signs of overheating but everthing stayed cool.
Quiescent current is too high by a factor 10.
Are you sure you are measuring correct ? Is the meter set to ‘DC’ ? Is the input shorted ?
Check all resistor values. Make sure amp is not oscillating (check with scope if possible).
Make sure temp sensing transistor and diode are correctly oriented and correct type.
Situation resolved, T5 & T6 were swapped! Refitted correctly & Bias set easily to 10mV, thanks for the reply.
