K8056

i have a k8056 when the relays are off input sk12 - 19 have 15 VDC coming out when the relays are on there is no power coming to the inputs
no other power supply is hooked up other then the PS that supply power for the board.
If i plug my 12VDC into an input that has a relay turned on the relay turns off. I have triple checked everything and everything is hooked up correctly tried replacing the VR :frowning:

is this normal operation or any thoughts what may be wrong?

thanks
dave

This is perfectly normal.
You should not apply power to the inputs of the card.
You need to short them to ground in order to turn on the relay.

Ok this is gonna sound stupid what exactly does this card do?
there is inputs on one side of the relay and out puts on the other
i can turn the relay on and that completes the circuit from say input 1 to output 2 correct? so for my purpose i want to control power to seperate devices. turn the relay on and power that i am supplying from a seperate source not from the on board power you board requires goes through to the device.
and if the relay is off why would i want the power that is suppose to power the board going back onto my input lines? i think i am just very confused as to the functionality of your board.
thanks
dave

And I am very confused when reading your post

Anyway, the board is powered with 12VDC or 12VAC
You can close a relay by means of an RS232 signal or by shorting the input of that particular relay

The relay contact (outputs) are totally separated and isolated. There is no voltage coming out of the outputs.

Hope this clears things up…
