the k8056 can be used with computers via rs232.
The trouble is that on my new computer, there are no rs232 sockets. How else can I connect this kit to my computer? USB? And what about the software , would I need to change settings and ports etc etc…
I hope someone has the answer to this question…

If you do not have a serial port, you can use a simple USB -> serial converter.

I just downloaded the software and whenever I try to run it I get this message-
Run-Time error ‘8002’:
Invalid port Number.
What should I do to fix this?
Are you sure you are opening the correct COM port? Go to your device manager to know the correct port name. Virtual serial ports are usually assigned COM5 or higher.
Ive gone to the device manager, what should I do now, sorry I dont understand what you mean. it is USB?
