My K8056 has been working for two years in different projects without any trouble.
Suddenly it ceased to work. When running the standard test program the relays does not
react on any of the commands ON/OFF, Toggle or Momentary. The DATA IN LED flashes at
every command. The relays are all responding correctly to the SW1 button and if I leave one
relay on, I can reset it with the Emergency STOP button. I suspect a failure at the PIC 16F630.
What to do ?
For some reason, the address of the card has changed to an unknown address.
Click ‘show address’.
If nothing happens, the card has been set to address ‘0’ otherwise, use the displayed address.
Since the “DATA IN” LED flashes, it can’t be an address failure.
‘Data in’-led has nothing to do with address failure.
It flashes when the incoming data protocol is correct, which is the case.
You say that ‘Emergency stop’ works. This is a command that does not care what the address of the card is.
Please check again.
Lets take it from the beginning.
12 V OK. LED 9 ON.
When starting the test program “Choose serial port “ =1 “Adress” =1 “ Change address field =49
A mouseclick on “show addr” activates relays 7 and 8 as LED 10 flashes.
Relays can be deactivated by a click on “Emergency stop”
The test switch activates the relays in correct sequence.
No response from any other buttons except from a flashing LED 10.
Please forgive me for being stupid but it might be my age (70)
making me a little absent minded.
Still ………………… what to do ???
If ‘show address’ lights led 8 and 7 then the card is set to address 3 (see manual on how to read the address).
Select address 3 and most likely it will work.
OK ! Thank you - finally it works !
